PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to use a cylindrical mold having any surface structures to mold a belt material in a manufacturing method for the toothed belt, or to make it possible to manufacture a toothed belt with only the change of a plate press mold in manufacturing toothed belts different in shape of a tooth part, the number of the tooth or a tooth pitch. SOLUTION: A fabric, a core wire, a rubber sheet and a fabric are wound round the outer surface of the cylindrical mold, and are heated and compressed to form a circularly molded belt material 16 which is removed from the mold. The procedure to form the tooth parts 21a by heating and compressing the belt material with a pair of the plate press molds 18, 19 having a tooth mold at least at one mold is successively repeated, to form a preliminary toothed belt body 21.
