PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small image recorder in which vapor of organic solvent can be collected efficiently. SOLUTION: The ink jet image recorder 22 comprises a steam removing section 44 fixed to the inside of the air inlet 38 of a housing 26, and a solvent collecting/exhausting section 42 fixed to the air outlet 40 of the housing 26. Since the air taken in from the outside of the recorder entirely passes through the steam removing section 44, quantity of steam being mixed into the solvent vapor evaporated in the housing can be reduced greatly.
