PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform fixing at a given temperature at which a normal fixing property is obtained even though a recording material having low temperature is heated so as to perform the fixing. SOLUTION: An object 3 to be heated by heating elements 2A and 2B, fixing film 4 heated by the object 3, and a pressure roller 5 which is a pressing member to form a nip N between the object 3 and the roller by coming into contact with the object 3 across the fixing film 4 are provided. Then, the object 3 is integrally formed from an area corresponding to the nip N to a part on the upstream side of the recording material P in a feeding direction to the entrance part Ni of the nip N. A part before the entrance part Ni of the fixing film 4 is preliminarily heated by the heating element 2A, so that the temperature of a part positioned after the entrance part Ni of the fixing film 4 is always set at the given temperature suitable for the fixing of a toner image.
