COMPRESSOR BLADE WITH DOVETAIL SLOTTED TO REDUCE STRESS ON AIRFOIL LEADING EDGE INCLUDING AIRFOIL HAVING LEADING EDGE AND ROOT

PURPOSE: A compressor blade having a dovetail is provided to improve an erosion-proof characteristic by reducing stress on an airfoil leading edge of an airfoil of a blade. CONSTITUTION: A compressor blade(10) includes an airfoil(12), a platform(14), a dovetail(16), and a dovetail neck(24). The airfoil(12) has a leading edge(22) and a root(20). The platform(14) is attached to the root(20) of the airfoil(12). The dovetail(16) is attached to a lateral portion of the platform(14) in opposition to the airfoil(12). The dovetail neck(24) is aligned adjacent to the platform(14). A slot(30) is formed in the dovetail neck(24) in parallel to the platform(14). The slot(30) extends from a front end of the dovetail neck(24) into an interior of the dovetail neck(24) through the leading edge of the blade. A width of the dovetail neck(24) is enlarged by means of the slot(30).
