PURPOSE: A rolling bearing apparatus is provided to improve dust resistance and to detect direction of rotation and rpm of an axle with compact structure of the rotation detector, and to repair and maintain the rolling bearing apparatus easily in disconnecting the harness at low cost. CONSTITUTION: A rolling bearing apparatus(1) comprises an inner ring member(3) having a rotating ring with the track, an outer ring member(2) concentrically arranged with the inner ring member and composed of a fixed ring with the track, a rolling member inserted between the inner ring member and the outer ring member, seal units(7,8) sealing the clearance between the inner ring member and the outer ring member, and a rotation detector sensing rotation of the inner ring member. The seal unit has an outer seal ring fixed to the outer ring member and an inner seal ring fixed to the inner ring member. The rotation detector has a magnetic sensor and a magnetic ring, and detects speed and direction of rotation of the inner ring member by sensing the magnetic ring with the magnetic sensor.
