PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metalworking fluid which contains no chlorine extreme-pressure agent and can be used for difficult machining of a difficult-to-machine metal material. SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition comprises a mineral oil, a synthetic oil or oil and fat as a base oil, contains (A) an organomolybdenum compound and (B) an active sulfur compound and contains no compound having a chlorine atom.
