PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the direct contact and mixing of heat exchange medium even if the fluid passage of a plate fin type heat exchanger is damaged. SOLUTION: This plate fin type heat exchanger formed so that passages allowing two or more types of fluid to flow in a container are disposed stackingly on each other comprises a high temperature fluid passage 2 in which a high temperature side header 2a supplying high temperature fluid is connected to one end side and a high temperature side header 2b discharging the high temperature fluid is connected to the other end side thereof and a low temperature fluid passage 4 in which a low temperature side header 4a supplying low temperature fluid is connected to one end side thereof and a low temperature side header 4b discharging the low temperature fluid is connected to the other end side thereof. A separation passage formed by inserting a conductive member therein is formed between the high temperature fluid passage and the low temperature fluid passage, and separation spaces 7 are formed between the high temperature fluid passage 2 and the low temperature side headers 4a and 4b and between the low temperature fluid passage 4 and the high temperature side headers 2a and 2b.
