PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus by which a bright high resolution image can be stably formed by suppressing occurrence of fixing failure, scattering of toner, etc. SOLUTION: Image data which is inputted from an image input means 501 (color scanner 1) is inputted to an image processing part 502. In an image processing part 502, first image data (each image data of M1, Y1, C1 and K1) and second image data (each image data of M2, Y2, C2 and K2) are formed, which are image processed according to the exposure amount for each color in an exposure amount table 506 corresponding to each color of M, Y, C and K. The first image data and the second image data are outputted sequentially to an exposure device 505 (laser scanner unit 208) through an image selector 504 and the exposure amount for each image data is read from the exposure table 506 and set in the exposure device 505.
