PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment for facilitating solution for a state that it is not operated as expected in the electronic equipment capable of communicating with external equipment via a plug and play communication interface. SOLUTION: After physical connection is established by recognizing as the communication equipment and executing communication of information exchange about operations and functions as the communication equipment between a digital camera 10 being the electronic equipment and a personal computer 90, the digital camera 10 informs the personal computer 90 of a command protocol. The digital camera 10 monitors whether or not a command unique to a device class by the command protocol is issued from the personal computer 90 within prescribed time after the connection with the personal computer 90 is established and generates prescribed warning 216 when the command is not received from the personal computer 90 within the prescribed time.
