PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a thread-like glue owing to threading from adhering to paper without deteriorating the application quality of the glue in the case the glue having a viscosity which is changed depending on the temperature is applied to paper such as an envelope or a slip. SOLUTION: In the case the glue is applied to the envelope 1 transported, by bringing a glue application part 10a to which the glue is discharged into contact with the envelope and discharging the glue from the glue application part 10a and then parting the glue application part 10a from the envelope 1 after the glue application to the envelope, only when the distance of the glue application part 10a and the envelope 1 is a prescribed gap or narrower, air is supplied from an air supply part 90 to an air blowing part 70 and air is blown to the space formed between glue application part 10a and the envelope 1 from the air blowing part 70 when the glue application part 10a and the envelope 1 are parted from each other.
