PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the arrangement and ink filling or preserving method of a liquid droplet ejection recorder which can be provided with a pressure damper even when a function preserving operation for filling a liquid droplet ejection recording head with ink or entirely ejecting ink therefrom is performed by means of a pressure pump, and to provide an arrangement of the liquid droplet ejection recorder where ink supply by means of the pressure pump is not always required during ordinary print operation. SOLUTION: The liquid droplet ejection recorder comprises an ink container, an ink supply passage provided with a pressure damper communicating with the ink container, an ink supply bypath joining the ink supply passage between the pressure damper and the liquid droplet ejection recording head while branching from the ink supply passage at a position closer to the ink container than the pressure damper and provided with at least one pressure pump, and a valve mechanism for switching interconnection of the ink supply bypath and the ink supply passage appropriately. The valve mechanism is switched after the pressure damper is filled with ink through the sucking function of the pressure pump, and the liquid droplet ejection recording head is filled with ink through the pressurizing function of the pressure pump or ink is ejected entirely therefrom.
