Optically active polymers (I) prepared by polymerizing chiral 2,2'-bis(diarylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl derivatives (II) with other monomers are new. Optically active polymers (I) prepared by polymerizing chiral 2,2'-bis(diarylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl derivatives of formula (II) with other monomers are new. [Image] R1, R2H or substituents; Ar1, Ar2alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl; X1NH2, CH2NH2, OH, CH2OH, COOH, ester, NCO or CH2NCO. Independent claims are also included for: (1) production of (I) by polymerizing (II) with other monomers; (2) transition metal complexes of (I); (3) racemic polymers (Ia) corresponding to (I).
