PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio broadcasting receiver which obtains a higher tone quality than conventional one even in an environment wherein a reception field intensity frequently changes, by controlling the attenuation quantity of a high-pitched sound component in accordance with the reception field intensity. SOLUTION: A control part monitors a voltage value of a signal meter signal and examines a detection frequency of a weak field state per unit time and sets a target value A of the attenuation quantity of the high-pitched sound component on the basis of the examination result. The target value A is compared with a present attenuation quantity B of the high-pitched sound component, and the high-pitched sound component is reduced up to the target value A by -1dB/sec in the case of A<B, and the present attenuation quantity is kept in the case of A=B, and the high-pitched sound component is increased up to the target value A by +1dB/5sec in the case of A>B.
