PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal colloid soluble in an organic solvent and satisfactory in the dispersibility of cluster grains consisting of a plurality of metals at an inexpensive production cost, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The metal colloid consists of a solvent consisting of an organic solvent or a mixed solvent of water and an organic solvent, cluster grains consisting of one or more kinds of metals and a protective agent protecting the cluster grains.
