PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus capable of continuously and smoothly reproducing a plurality of data. SOLUTION: A tape reproducing section 112 controls an index file information acquisition section 113 to acquire a first clip element from a clip table of an index file in a RAM, and controls a reproduction discrimination section 115 to discriminate whether or not the a corresponding clip can be reproduced with the acquired clip element. When the reproduction discrimination section 115 discriminates that reproduction propriety information of the clip element indicates "false (reproduction disable)", the tap reproduction section 112 controls the index file information acquisition section 113 to acquire a succeeding clip element from the clip table of the index file.
