PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink supply device which can carry out a cleaning operation of an ink pan for a gravure rotary press and the like under separate arrangements from those for a printing operation and shorten time for stopping a printing machine. SOLUTION: The ink supply device is equipped with a chain 19 for switching the positions of a plurality of the ink pans and a lifting mechanism 15 for transferring the ink pan between the chain 19 and an ink supply position. That is, the device transfers the used ink pan 11 to a position of the chain 19 from the ink supply position, then switches the positions of the used ink pan 11 and a new ink pan 17 by means of the chain 19 and transfers the new ink pan 17 to the ink supply position by means of the lifting mechanism 15.
