PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem of necessity of narrowing the width of an electrode as the frequency becomes higher in a conventional surface acoustic resonator having its electrode width ofλ/4, along with a problem of difficulty of fabrication and an increase of loss caused by electrode resistance. SOLUTION: In the surface acoustic wave resonator, a corded electrode is arranged on a piezo-electricity/electrostriction substance substrate, and each reflector is provided on both sides thereof. A channel with a width ofλ/2 or a reflecting electrode with a width ofλ/2 is used. Then, a decrease in electrode resistance and micro-manufacturing are realized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
