SOUND SYSTEM HAVING FUNCTION OF CONTROLLING VOLUME OF EACH SPEAKER

A sound system provided with a volume control function for automatically controlling the output of speaker and a method for controlling the volume are provided to maintain the well-balanced surround stereo presence and the immersion for the image. A sound system provided with a volume control function for automatically controlling the output of speaker includes a plurality of position measurement sensors(290-1 to 290-n), a reception unit(210), a volume level calculation unit(220) and an amplifying unit(270). The plurality of position measurement sensors(290-1 to 290-n) is attached to at least one speaker to measure the positions of the user. The reception unit(210) receives the measuring signal in response to the measuring result of the position measurement sensors(290-1 to 290-n). The volume level calculation unit(220) calculates the distance from each speaker to the user in response to the received measurement signal and calculates the output volume level of each speaker in response to the calculated distance. And, the amplifying unit(270) amplifies the volume of the voice signal processed by the voice signal process unit in response to the output volume level of each speaker.
