PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera for easily changing over whether to perform preview display or not . SOLUTION: Whether a preview switch 20 is depressed or not is determined in a step S12. When determination is denied, i.e., the preview switch 20 is not depressed, a processing is advanced to a step S14. An indication to record digital picture data is outputted to a recording control part 46, and then, a processing is advanced to a step S26. When determination is affirmed, a preview display indication is outputted to a display control part 44 in a step S16. Consequently, the display control part 44 performs a processing to display a picture based on the digital picture data in an LCD 18, so as to display the picture of a subject photographed by the LCD 18.
