PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed alkaline zinc primary battery improving high rate characteristics and safety at the same time. SOLUTION: The mean particle size (D50) of zinc alloy particles constituting a negative electrode 104 is 90-150μm, negative electrode zinc alloy particles having a particle size of 150μm or more in the zinc alloy particles are 0-10 mass% of the whole zinc alloy particles, a heat resistant ring 109 is arranged on the inside of an annular side wall part 110 of an insulating gasket 106, the outer diameter of the heat resistant ring is within the inner diameter of the annular side wall part, and the inner diameter of the heat resistant ring is about 65% of the diameter of a flange part 111 of the insulating gasket.
