PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ink leakage because of shocks of dropping or the like in an ink container attachable and detachable to a recording apparatus. SOLUTION: A plug member 15 set at a valve member 14a is moved back and forth by an elastic member 16 in its axis direction together with the valve member 14a. The plug member 15 is fitted into a communication hole 12a when the valve member 14a closes the communication hole 12, thereby shutting the communication hole 12. At a time point when the valve member 14a further moves in an opening direction by a distance X after it opens the communication hole 12, the plug member 15 is moved out of the communication hole 12 to open the communication hole 12.
