PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a stator winding of a rotary electric machine and the stator winding of the rotary electric machine, capable of preventing extension of a coil end section in the radial direction. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method includes a first twisting process of twisting a head section 33c by moving each of straight sections 33a, 33b so as to be relative to each other along a second direction B different from a first direction A; a second twisting process of twisting the head section 33c, by fitting the first direction A to the peripheral direction and moving each of the straight sections relative to the side opposite to the peripheral direction; an insertion process of inserting each of the straight sections into each of two slots, formed at different positions along the peripheral direction of a stator core; a folding process of folding non-head side of an inserted segment 33 in the peripheral direction; and a jointing process of jointing the ends of the folded adjacent segment 33 to each other.
