[Class 78 (i)] Biscuits are discharged from a baking-oven 1 on to an endless conveyer band 2 which is guided to follow a curved path and presents a plane smooth conveying surface, the driving force being applied to the band at least at both its edges and all parts of the conveying surface moving in the curved path without being slidably displaced relatively to one another. Fig. 1 shows one construction in which the band 2 is guided over conical rollers 3, 4 and is built up of sector-shaped plates 5 pivoted together by rods passed through rolledover hinge lugs 8, the driving force being applied over the whole width of the band by the provision, in the rollers 3, 4, of depressions in which the hinge lugs 8 engage. In another form, shown in Fig. 4, the band 12 is secured to lugs 21 on driving chains 15, 16 guided on curved rails 17 ... 20, the chains being driven by sprockets 13, 14 on the shaft 11 which carries the conical roller 10.</p> |
