An aqueous suspension of crosslinked silicone particles, characterized by comprising (A) crosslinked silicone particles having a mean particle diameter of 0.1 to 500mum, (B) N-acyl-N-hydrocarbyltaurine and/or a salt thereof, and (C) water; an aqueous emulsion of oil containing crosslinked silicone particles, characterized by comprising (A) crosslinked silicone particles having a mean particle diameter of 0.1 to 500mum, (D) an oil, (B) N-acyl-N-hydrocarbyltaurine and/or a salt thereof, and (C) water, with the proviso that the component (A) is contained in droplets of the component (D) dispersed in water; and a cosmetic ingredient consisting of the suspension or the emulsion. The suspension and the emulsion are characterized by excellent stability, decreased load on the environment, and little influence on the human body, and exhibit excellent cosmetic functions such as moisturizing and smoothening, thus being extremely useful as cosmetic ingredients.
