PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict the consumption of an in-vehicle battery in a specified driving condition. SOLUTION: During travelling, an electronic control unit 1 controls the drive of an electric motor M operated by a steering mechanism SM in response to the operation of a steering wheel to assist steering. During a stop, the electronic control unit 1 determines a specified driving condition on the basis of a sensor signal of a vehicle driving condition sensor S, and even if a system is turned on when the specified driving condition continues for a certain time or longer, the electronic control unit 1 disconnects wiring for supplying power from the in-vehicle battery BT to a motor driving circuit 4 as a circuit not requiring the supply of the power.
