PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor capable of being started by switching different kinds of basic software, in which limitation of external video output intended for an operating environment of versatile basic software can also be performed similarly to an operating environment of other basic software. SOLUTION: An external output control section is provided for controlling whether or not a video output to an external display device is to be validated in accordance with basic software selected to be started when a system is started. The external output control section, in concrete terms, sends a control signal to a video output device so that all video outputs to internal and to external display devices are validated when the start of versatile first basic software is selected, and so that the video output to the internal display device is validated however the video output to the external display device is invalidated when the start of second basic software for supporting only limited functions of a disk player or TV is selected.
