PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear plate of a plasma display panel consisting of textile aluminum base metal matrix composite. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel (PDP) according to the present invention comprises a front plate 100 on which display electrodes 120, bus electrodes 130, a dielectric layer 140 and a protecting sheet 160 are formed; and a rear plate 200 on which address electrodes 220, a dielectric layer 240, partitions 260 and phosphors 280 are formed. The rear plate 200 consists of metal matrix composite 214 having base metals 210 of aluminum or aluminum alloy and a reinforcements 212 of carbon fiber or SiC fiber, wherein the metal matrix composite 214 is aluminum base metal composite 214 formed in textile. Thus, the rear plate is thin and light and has high thermal conductivity to easily diverse generated heat, thereby improving field life. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
