PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve information directly linked to positional information of a user even in a place incapable of using GPS. SOLUTION: When a user carries out a photographing start operation, a portable terminal 1 starts photographing of an image, and transmits the image to an information retrieval service device 5 via a base station 2 and a communication network 3. The information retrieval service device 5 retrieves positional information of the portable terminal 1 by using the received image as a key to extract a position retrieval result. In addition, the information retrieval service device 5 transmits the position retrieval result, and a destination, a request item and a set time received from the portable terminal 1 to an information management device 4 via the communication network 3, and requests a part of the requested information retrieval. The information retrieval service device 5 processes a map based on the request item retrieval result received from the information management device 4. Then, the information retrieval service device 5 transmits the request item retrieval result and the processed map to the portable terminal 1 via the communication network 3 and the base station 2.
