PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear electromagnetic actuator in which interaction between sub-teeth and an armature is reduced to minimum to effectively reduce a cogging force. SOLUTION: In the linear electromagnetic actuator, core units U1 to W2 comprising magnetic cores of a substantially H-shaped in cross section and coils wound around the center trunk part and applied with an AC current are arranged in the axial direction of the coils. The actuator is equipped with an armature 142 which integrally couples sub-teeth 143 of a magnetic body generating a cogging force for reducing the cogging force with all core units with the core units via a nonmagnetic body, and field elements 200A, 200B with a magnetic pole 212 arranged facing the cores via a space, enabling the armature 142 and the field elements 200A, 200B to relatively move in the axial direction of the coils.
