PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit over-discharging of a storage battery, especially the storage battery for a vehicle, which occurs in the case that load is continuously applied to the storage battery as a room light is forgot to turn off. SOLUTION: In the storage battery provided with a cut-off switch for cutting off discharge of the storage battery and a control means for controlling open/close action of the cut-off switch, the control means controls to realize either of the following states; a first state in which the cut-off switch is continuously closed and a second state in which the cut-off switch repeats closed state-open state according to charging state of the storage battery.
