MICROPHONE POSITION DETERMINING METHOD, APPARATUS AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a microphone position determining method and apparatus for efficiently determining a microphone position for fetching voice related to voice recognition. SOLUTION: An impulse response from a speaker simulation speaker to a voice recognition microphone is measured for each of multiple positions while changing the position of the voice recognition microphone, the wave of maximum amplitude time for the impulse response measured for each position or the wave of time around said maximum amplitude time is defined as a direct wave to compute a direct wave level, waves of times other than the direct wave are defined as reflected waves to compute a reflected wave level, and a microphone position with which a ratio between the direct wave level and the reflected wave level becomes maximum, is defined as an optimal microphone position.
