PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal capable of making a user recognize easily whether the posture of the portable terminal is appropriate or not at the time of photography operation, and to provide its control method. SOLUTION: A portable telephone with a camera 111 has a horizontal sensor 106 for measuring the horizontal angle with respect to the posture of the portable telephone, and a display section 113 outputting information for regulating horizontal posture of the portable telephone based on the horizontal angle with respect to the posture of the portable telephone measured by the horizontal sensor 106.
