PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating fly ash, by which fly ash containing a large quantity of hexavalent chromium is deoxidized and insolubilized stably to handle the treated fly ash easily, the position of a fly ash treatment apparatus to be in contact with a chemical and the fly ash to be treated is restrained from being corroded/worn and the chemical or the like is not stuck to the fly ash treatment apparatus when the chemical or the like is stored or supplied. SOLUTION: This method for treating fly ash comprises a fly ash capturing step ST1 of capturing fly ash in exhaust gas, a ferrous sulfate monohydrate adding step ST2 of adding ferrous sulfate monohydrate to the captured fly ash, a cement adding step ST3 of adding cement to the captured fly ash, a mixing step ST4 of mixing the captured fly ash, ferrous sulfate monohydrate and cement to obtain a mixture, a humidifying step ST5 of injecting water to the obtained mixture and a kneading step ST6 of kneading the water-injected mixture and furthermore a step (ST7) of adjusting the pH of the liquid eluted from the treated fly ash to≥9 and <12.
