PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a storage capacity of image data picked up by a digital still camera without increasing a size, a weight and a memory capacity of the camera itself. SOLUTION: A digital still camera comprises: an image pickup device that picks up an image in digital form and stores image data related to the image in an image memory; a cellular phone communication apparatus connected to a network computer that is connectable to an external print unit, via a network; a display for displaying images; a command input section for accepting the designation of a displayed image and accepting the designation of the external print unit for printing image data related to the accepted image; and a CPU for controlling the image memory that holds image data, to output image data, and causing the connected network computer to transmit the designations of image data and external print unit.
