A hydraulic device of which installation position is not restricted. The device has a hydraulic pump (1) that is driven by an electric motor (6) and can be rotated to both directions. Both ports of a hydraulic cylinder and both ports of the hydraulic pump (1) are individually connected by a pair of pipelines. Between an outer hollow cylinder (32) and an inner hollow cylinder (34) is formed a slide hole (38). The slide hole (38) is partitioned into a pressurized chamber (50) and a tank chamber (18) by a piston (44) that is slidably inserted in the slide hole (38). The tank chamber (18) and the pipelines are connected by means of check valves provided in a direction permitting an outflow of liquid from the tank chamber (18), and the tank chamber (18) is pressurized by pneumatic pressure introduced in the pressurized chamber (50). The hydraulic pump (1) is provided in the inner hollow cylinder (34). The hydraulic pump (1) is a swash plate piston pump. The outer hollow cylinder (32) and the inner hollow cylinder (34) are arranged and attached coaxially to the rotating shaft of the electric motor (6).
