PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a sense of incongruity at automatic steering control, to prevent wandering of a vehicle, and to make enhancement of turning performance at low speed traveling and enhancement of vehicle stability at high speed traveling, compatible while traveling by driver steering. SOLUTION: The automatic steering device for the vehicle is provided with: an automatic steering selection means 14 for performing selection and release of automatic steering control by inputting of the driver; a front wheel steering control means 7a for automatically controlling a steering angle of the front wheel so as to obtain a target traveling route regardless of the steering state of the driver at selection of automatic steering control and controlling the steering angle of the front wheel in response to steering inputting of the driver at release of automatic steering control; and a rear wheel steering control means 7b for controlling a steering angle of the rear wheel so as to obtain a target steering angle of the rear wheel in response to steering inputting of the driver at release of automatic steering control. When the automatic steering control is selected, the steering control means 7a starts the automatic steering control after the rear wheel steering control is stopped at a neutral position. When selection of automatic steering control is released, the rear wheel steering control means 7b starts the rear wheel steering control after the automatic steering control is stopped.
