PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce scattering of a toner and to obtain high image quality in electrostatic transfer of an electrophotographic process. SOLUTION: The toner used for an electrophotographic apparatus is so prepared that the number N (piece) of a charge controlling agent existing on the surface of one piece of the toner satisfies formula (1) and formula (2) when the average radius of the toner is defined as r (μm) and the electrostatic charge quantity per unit weight of the toner as q/m (μC/g).
