PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver whereby a user can continuously view and listen to a transmission signal such as a broadcast program with an inexpensive configuration independently of a position of a mobile body such as a vehicle. SOLUTION: The receiver 10 is mounted on the mobile body and selectively receives the transmission signal transmitted from a transmission station located in each transmission area. A delay profile detection circuit 26 detects a delay profile denoting a relative strength of the transmission signal and a delay signal resulting from the reflected transmission signal, and a delay time, and a control circuit 29 estimates a reception environment wherein the mobile body is located on the basis of the delay profile. Then the control circuit switches the reception between the transmission station for transmitting the transmission signal received at present and a transmission signal from another transmission station depending on the reception quality of the transmission signal and the reception environment.
