PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera and a cleaning device therefor capable of removing dust and dirt adhered to an imaging face of an imaging element and discharging the dust and dirt to the outside of a camera body. SOLUTION: When a motor 27 drives a turbo fan 26 in a state that the cleaning device 20 is fitted to the camera body 1, the turbo fan sucks air from a suction port 24 of a rectangular head 23 through the inside of a tube of a suction tube part 21, sucks the air in the camera body 1 through the suction tube part 21 and discharges the air externally. Through the suction operation above, a high speed air stream is produced toward the suction port 24 at a very small gap d between the head and the surface of cover glass 8c of an imaging element unit 8, the pressure of the air stream removes the dust and dirt adhered to the cover glass 8c so as to be peeled off, the dust and the dirt are discharged externally through the cleaning device 20.
