PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present a document screen having a layout from which one can easily grasp a correlation between a diagram and a sentence by scanning a document, in which a diagram and a sentence are mixed, and converting it to be optically recognized. SOLUTION: A group of documents, in which a plurality of diagrams and sentences relating to the diagrams are mixed, are scanned to convert them into document image data. Then, the sentences included in the document image data are converted into text data, and the diagrams are cut out as they are as the image data. Further, text data and the image data of the diagrams having the same figure number in them are correlated, and a document screen re-layouted in which the character strings and the diagrams indicated by the correlated text data are simultaneously displayed is displayed.
