PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image processor which facilitates address control at the time of read from a memory by correcting misregistration between color components to store color image data in the memory. SOLUTION: A color image processor 1 is provided with; an image read means 11 which line image signals of R, G, and B in order from the upstream side of a relative moving direction to a document while moving three read lines spaced by a prescribed number of lines, in the relative moving direction; a storage means 12 having areas; and a transfer means 21 which transfers line image signals by alternately repeating first processing and second processing. In the first processing, the line image signal of an R component out of line image signals of three color components simultaneously read by the image read means 11 is stored in the first area, and then the line image signal of a G component is stored in an area being the number of areas, which is obtained by multiplying the prescribed number of lines by 3 and adding one to a multiplication result, ahead of the first area, and the line image signal of a B color component is stored in an area, which is obtained by multiplying the prescribed number of lines by 3 and adding one to a multiplication result, ahead of that area. In the second processing, an area being three areas ahead of the first area is designated as the first area where a line image signal of an R component read next by the image read means 11 should be stored.
