PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power tool capable of supporting a brush holder always stably and exactly, in spite of the simple construction. SOLUTION: A normal- and counter-rotatable motor (6) disposed within a housing (4) of a power tool (2) includes a brush holder (14) for holding a brush (20) that comes into electrical contact with a commutator (12) rotatable around its center shaft line (A), and an operation member (26) operable from the outside the housing (4) and enables the brush holder (14) to revolve in relation to the housing (4) up to a normal-rotation or counter-rotation positions in the circumferential direction (U) of the commutator (12). An elastic device (32) causes the brush holder (14) to impel toward normal-rotation or counter-rotation positions in the circumferential direction (U) of the commutator (12), as well as to act an elastic force in a center shaft line (A) direction.
