PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a SAW (surface acoustic wave) filter that has high productivity and is inexpensive, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This SAW filter has pattern parts 10 provided at outer circumferential parts of a plurality of surface acoustic wave elements 9 and made of a conductive material and conductive material removing parts 11 provided between the surface acoustic wave elements 9 and the pattern parts 10 on one surface of a piezoelectric substrate 6, the conductive material removing parts 11 form the external form of a surface acoustic wave element 9, and the conductive material removing parts 11 make the surface acoustic wave elements 9 and the pattern parts 10 nonconductive. For this reason, the pattern parts 10 that operate as a part for preventing pyroelectric breakdown at manufacturing remain for eliminating the need to eliminate the work of the pattern parts 10, a SAW filter that has higher productivity and is more inexpensive than in the conventional one is provided.
