PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film which hardly causes shift or unevenness in retardation values caused by stress associated with use for a liquid crystal display apparatus, which satisfies an inequality nx>nz>ny, and which has a wide range of the retardation values. SOLUTION: The retardation film includes a stretched polymer film containing a styrene-based resin and a polycarbonate-based resin, which satisfies the following expressions (1) and (2): 100 nm≤Re[590]≤350 nm (1), 0.2≤Rth[590]/Re[590]≤0.8 (2). In inequalities (1) and (2), Re[590] and Rth[590] respectively represent retardation values in the film plane, in the thickness direction, and measured with light of 590 nm wavelength at 23°C.
