Water repellent compositions for wood preservatives

Disclosed is a wax emulsion water repellent composition, comprising: a wax; a non-ionic surfactant having an HLB value greater than 11; an anionic surfactant comprising a monoethanolamine salt of a natural or synthetic carboxylic acid, present in an amount effective to stabilize said composition while it is used repetitively to pressure-treat wood; and water. Also disclosed are methods of treating wood using said composition and wood treated by the said composition.
