PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL element excelling in color purity and luminous efficiency without having complicated and multiple processes. SOLUTION: This invention discloses this EL element including: a transparent substrate; and at least a transparent positive electrode, one or more luminescent layers and a negative electrode on the transparent substrate; and also including one or more recessed bodies or projecting bodies on the transparent substrate.
