PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch device which has a simple structure that reduces slide resistance between the operation side and the fixed side. SOLUTION: A body 20 has guide slots 22A to 22D formed on the outer faces thereof respectively. A switch knob 10 is fitted slidably in the body 20. On the inner surface of the switch knob 10, short columnar guide ribs 11A to 11H are formed projectingly in such a way that two guide ribs are formed for one guide slot in a sliding direction. When the switch knob 10 is slid, the guide ribs 11A to 11H are guided by the guide slots 22A to 22D to slide over the inner surface of the guide slots 22A to 22D in linear contact with the inner surface in the direction perpendicular to the sliding direction.
