PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device performing focus servo so as to minimize the influence of a leaking tracking error signal component even if the leaking tracking error signal component of a focus error signal causes decentering of an optical disk to change amplitude or a phase while tracking control is disabled, and to provide a focus control method thereof. SOLUTION: The optical disk device is provided with a generation means for generating a corrected focus error signal having a tracking error signal component removed from a focus error signal for each predetermined rotation cycle based on a tracking error signal whose amplitude is changed by a predetermined coefficient while a tracking servo means is disabled, and a control means for increasing the predetermined coefficient when the amplitude of a current corrected focus error signal is smaller than that of a previous corrected focus error signal, and reverse the polarity of the predetermined coefficient when the amplitude of the current corrected focus error signal is larger than that of the previous corrected focus error signal.
