Machine (1) for renewal of a railway track (4) comprising rails (2) and sleepers (3) has a two-part (7) machine frame (6), supported at its end side on the track by a rail movement mechanism (5), with a link (8) between both frame parts. It has a sleeper location device (21) and a sleeper accommodation device (43), between which is an endlessly rotatable clearance device (11) for accommodation of ballast (14). A first conveyor belt unit (17) is available for moving ballast away. Between the clearance device and the sleeper location device is a ballast discharge unit (23), at the end (22) of which in the machine longitudinal direction runs a second conveyor belt unit (19) for transport of ballast and a drive-impelled height-adjustable ballast levelling device (27).
