A system for offering regional information by using the local area wireless communication and a method thereof are provided to offer the regional information of an information providing terminal installed in a corresponding area by a local wireless communication terminal such as the Bluetooth, Zigbee or UWB(Ultra-Wide Band). A regional information providing system(100) comprises a regional information providing terminal(110) and a wireless communication terminal(120) which receives the regional information through the connection with the regional information providing terminal. The regional information providing terminal includes the first transceiving unit(111), the first controller(112) and a regional information storage unit(113). The wireless communication terminal comprises the second transceiving unit(121), the second controller(122), a storage unit(123), a display unit(124) and an input unit(125).
